Ministry of Women and Social Affairs

The Ministry of Women and Social Affairs (MoWSA) is a federal Ministry established under the proclamation number 1263/2014. The establishment has made by merging the Social Affairs of the previous Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MoLSA) with the Ministry of Women, Children and Youth Affairs (MoWCY). The newly established MoWSA is responsible for the Affairs of Women, Children, Youth and the overall Social Affairs of Persons with Disabilities, the Elderly, urban destitute, the poor, vulnerable and marginalized segments of the Ethiopian Population. The ministry currently has a total of 350 staffs in different capacity and administrational level. At present 31 directorates (including offices) with diverse functions exist in the Ministry.
