How Technical and Vocational Education Can Help Close Skills Gaps in Africa

This paper focuses on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) as one part of the solution. This is because ACET research has shown that young graduates with TVET have greater  chances of securing employment than youths with general education, both in African countries and around the world, as their skills  are in greater demand in the labor market. TVET institutions are  often in the best position to provide the kind of education that en- dows students with the skills — both technical and soft skills — that  are in demand today and are likely to be even more important for  the future of work
